What is a talent manager?  A talent’s career can be very complex and everyone who helps the talent has a different function.  It is the managers job to help market, create opportunities, guide, encourage, follow up, refer, consult and make sure that talent does not get lost  in the shuffle.  A talent agent’s job is to book professional , marketable talent. In Florida, the a majority of agents have non-exclusive contracts and many full-time working talent are multi-listed with several agencies.  An agent may have several thousand talent on their roster and so one-on-one interaction and personal attention is very tough.  You may not ever get a chance to work unless you are prepared, marketable and moving forward in your career.  A manager’s job is to have very personal tailored and holistic approach working with a smaller group of talent in conjunction with agents to help talent have success in the entertainment business.
